Well, we said we'd do it, and by George, we've done it. We made it safely from little ol' Cascade, Idaho to, well, er, um, little ol' Plymouth Rock. And that's just about what it was like to look over yonder rail and gaze upon it. I believe Sadie poignantly stated it best: "there it is." Admittedly...we had a family chuckle (the parents were expecting this sort of reaction) and then we busted onward and our travel & discoveries continued!
(The highlight of Plymouth ended up being the graveyard of the original Pilgrim saints who have long ago passed on before us...my Lord, let us live our days with the rich understanding that our earthly life's end is our sweetest beginning!)
- "My flesh shall slumber in the ground till the last trumpet's joyful sound. Then burst these chains with sweet surprise and in my Savior's image rise." -1806 Marcy Peyton -72 yrs.
- "Our life how short a groan, a sigh; we live and then begin to die. But oh, how great a mercy this, that death's a portal into bliss." -1829 William Drew II -45 yrs.
- "God calls our loved ones, but we lose not wholly what He has given. They live on earth in thought and deed as truly as in heaven." -1829 Joseph Pratt -87yrs.
On CHRIST the solid Rock we stand...all other ground is sinking sand!
Love it!! Keep them coming!!!
